Curious about those wash screens on your SmartBand? Let's break down what they mean and why they matter.
Room Entry Reminder

This screen will appear if you forgot to wash your hands before entering the patient’s room. This is simply a reminder letting you know that you have 30-60 seconds (depending on your system settings) to wash your hands and remain compliant.
Room Exit Reminder
If you have been in the patient room longer than 60 seconds and you exit without a wash, you will receive a 'Wash Hand Exit'. This screen lets you know that you have 60 seconds to wash your hands to remain compliant.
Wash Timer

The wash timer indicates that you are washing your hands. Once you begin the hand washing motion, you will see a purple screen on your SmartBand that says 'Wash Timer'. The timer will begin to calculate your wash time.
Coaching Screens:
The following screens DO NOT affect your compliance score nor your data. They serve as a coaching tool to help with your washing duration average.
Wash Too Short Reminder

If your wash is not long enough to reach your facilities wash duration setting, this screen will appear. While not meeting the duration setting is not ideal, this is a coaching tool to help improve duration and does not affect your compliance.
Positive Wash Reminder(s)

When you’ve completed a wash and the duration meets your facility's wash duration setting, you will see this screen. This screen shows that you have reached the goal for the wash, well done!
