The Vitalacy SmartBadge is an easy and lightweight hand-hygiene compliance solution using a plastic white badge clipped to a badge holder. A SmartBadge will gather your participating wash events and determine your average compliance score.
Here's How it Works:
Badges will be distributed by a Supervisor or Unit Manager. A SmartBadge is dedicated and assigned to a unique employee ID (or user).
Attach the SmartBadge to your Medical Badge Clip/Holder. Please ensure your badge is securely locked to your clip so it doesn’t accidentally fall or become loose.
To start using the SmartBadge. Go about your normal workflow. Your SmartBadge will communicate with Hall and Room Beacons located throughout your Unit/Department's patient care areas.
What Info Does Your SmartBadge Capture?
As your SmartBadge is communicating with Beacons, you are participating in hand hygiene opportunities. To be compliant, you must clean your hands BEFORE and AFTER visiting a patient's room.
When exiting a patient room, you will have another hand hygiene opportunity. The exit compliance window is the same as the entry.
Once your shift is over, there’s no need for anything else.
Leave the SmartBadge on your badge clip to reduce the chances of losing or misplacing your SmartBadge. Do not leave it in your pocket or lying around loose.
Checking your data:
After SmartBadge use and your work shift, you can log in to the Vitalacy Web App to see how your compliance went the next day.
Upkeep and Battery:
The battery lifespan of a SmartBadge is usually around 16 to 20 months. There’s no need for other maintenance or need for charging.
